This past Sunday we served lunch after church to raise money for our upcoming music mission trip to Jamaica. The top left picture above is a picture of “Cabbage Salad,” a popular Jamaican dish that is delicious. I came early Sunday morning and helped make this – mostly by cutting up heads of cabbage. When I went into the service that morning, I asked my wife to make sure I didn’t smell too bad! (Maybe I should ask that every week!) The top right picture is several of the choir members helping us serve the meal, which also included peas (really kidney beans) and rice and jerk chicken. The bottom picture shows everyone enjoying their Jamaican meal. All donations received (about $2200 at last count) will go to purchasing instruments in Jamaica that we will donate to the churches we are helping there.
If you haven’t already done so, please consider helping to sponsor me as I go on this mission trip. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE, you can click on the paypal button on the right hand side of this site. However, if you want your gift to be tax-deductible you should send a check to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church at the address below. PGBC is recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 non-profit religious foundation and all tax-deductible gifts will be properly receipted. Make checks payable to “Pleasant Garden Baptist Church” with “Jamaica Music Mission” in the memo line (because of IRS Regulations, any checks with my name on them will be returned to the donor.) Enclose a note with the check with your personal information and my name on it, so that I will be credited for the gift. And sign up for e-mail updates on this site so that you can receive all the news and updates about the trip.
