I am so excited to announce that I will be going to Jamaica in early August on a mission trip centered around worship music! Together with a team from my church, Pleasant Garden Baptist, and our Minister of Music David Loftis, I am going to an area near Montego Bay to train local church musicians. We’ll help them in a week of camp, where they will build musical skills and share worship concepts. Later in the week we will lead outreach events in local neighborhoods with them and assist Pastor Loftis with a Worship Leader’s Conference and concert in Montego Bay at a new church plant in the uptown area of the city. You can read more information about previous trips on David’s website: Teach412.Com.
This will be my first international mission trip and I am so happy to be able to share my love of Christian music with people who are ready to learn and lead their churches. We are still looking for some other instrumentalists, singers, and sound and video technicians to join us if you are interested. I will keep you posted as I can on this blog, Twitter, and Instagram. But can I ask you to do a couple of things for me?
Obviously, mission trips take money. The total cost for me to go on this trip is $1100 and I need to raise that support to enable me to take this step. Would you please consider supporting me financially in this ministry? Your gift will enable us to strengthen local church communities in Jamaica who are reaching people with the good news of Christ. Any extra money I raise in support will go towards the purchase of musical instruments and supplies that will be donated to these churches. As I said earlier, the trip is in early August and these funds are due before that time.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE, you can click on the paypal button below or on the right hand side of this site. However, if you want your gift to be tax-deductible you should send a check to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church at the address below. PGBC is recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 non-profit religious foundation and all tax-deductible gifts will be properly receipted. Make checks payable to “Pleasant Garden Baptist Church” with “Jamaica Music Mission” in the memo line (because of IRS Regulations, any checks with my name on them will be returned to the donor.) Enclose a note with the check with your personal information and my name on it, so that I will be credited for the gift. And sign up for e-mail updates on this site so that you can receive all the news and updates about the trip.
Secondly, whether or not you can support this trip financially, I would ask that you pray over me and this trip and the team that is going. Pray that God would use this time to impact lives and draw people to Him. Thank you for this support.
